Bekelech in Ethiopia means:

she germinated

Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, living her childhood between two Spanish cities, Barcelona and Valencia.

she grew up

She graduated in Hong Kong, and returned to Barcelona to study photography. Afterwards, High Tech Entrepreneurship.

she blossomed

But where she flourishes is through artistic expression.

Her artworks pierce the senses, perhaps the fruit of a different vision of life, of extremes and oppositions.

Additionally, she stands out for her activism against the scourge that marks many Ethiopian women: Female Genital Mutilation, of which she was saved by her early adoption.

CONSISTENCY IN INCONSISTENT ART

Inconsistency?

It is my vision of contemporary art… inconsistent by definition if it is understood as a form of expression without rules, without guidelines, without as such a form of expression without restrictions.

Because consistency is based on what is homogeneous, on what is certain, on absolute truths and realities, on the nonabsolute correctness and existence, in non-doubt.

Consistent?

And at the same time I feel that my pieces are firm, clear, resounding, born of those
scars that make us who we are and from that hidden strength that emerges when life puts us to the test.

Would it be the paradox of consistency in inconsistent art… or not?
